Hi, my name is Adio Akil. I'm the president and manufacturer of Praises All Natural Hair and Skin Care Products. I wanted to take a moment to tell you a little bit about my company.
I started Praises Products in 1982. I named the company after my son, Praises, who passed away at the age of seven weeks old. His passing caused me to reflect on life and I was inspired to study herbs and natural healing.
I was compelled toward making hair and skin care products because 30 years ago there were very few natural products readily available that were made for people of African descent.
Praises is a tried and true product. Many children have grown up using these products. We're actually on our third generation of families using the product line.
I specially formulated Praises Products with herbs, vegetable oils and essential oils. So if you have scabby skin, scaly skin, rough skin, dry skin or chapped skin, Praises Products can assist your skin in healing, based on the formulation.
The product line includes Kuumba's Hair and Scalp Conditioner, which is a hair pomade or hair grease. It's the first product I made. It helps your hair to be more manageable and less frizzy. It's a total nutrient product based on the formulation of herbs, vegetable oils and essential oils.
All of the ingredients have properties and go right into the pores and begin to work on the scalp and skin. Kuumba comes in Almond, Cherry Mango, Coco Mango, Coconut, Lemongrass, Lime Tea Tree, Jasmin & Honeysuckle, Orange Mango, Peppermint and Unscented fragrances.
The second product that I created is Full of Locks Hair Oil. It's great for moisture, luster and sheen. Full of Locks comes in different fragrances including Almond, Cherry Mango, Coco Mango, Coconut, Lemongrass, Lime Tea Tree, Orange Mango, Patchouli, Peppermint and Unscented.
Another one of the products is Cleopatra's Delight Hair and Body Oil which is another moisturizer. It comes in fragrances such as Peaches & Creme, Jazmin-Honeysuckle, Flowers and Lavender & Geranium.
One of my latest products is Cleopatra's Delight Hair and Body Lotion.
Praises Products also includes a line of gourmet seasonings including my number one and original Mild and Tangy Herbal Seasoning. It's good for seasoning all types of foods like salads, soups, sauces, dips, avocado, tomato, vegetables, fish, meat and it gives them a wonderful taste.
There is also Chipotle-Gasm, Aztec Sunrise, Africa Near East and Curry-Gasm which was created by my son, Duro Akil.
The landscape for natural hair products has changed tremendously. Where there were little or no products available specifically for people of African descent 30 years ago when I started Praises Products, now there are literally hundreds of different products on the market.
What I would say to someone who is looking at the myriad of natural hair care products out there and contemplating purchasing Praises Products, is that Praises is an original. It works, it has a history and a track record.
